2005年メッセージ

日本のファンの皆様へ

Time flies rather quickly and yet another year has passed. It seems like just moments ago I was just sitting down to write the 2004 New Year Greeting. Something I’ve learned through my life journey is that time is valuable and we must learn to appreciate life and time we are given in this world.

時が経つのは本当に早いもので、また１年が経ってしまいました。腰を下ろして2004年のメッセージを書いていたのが、ついこの前のように思えます。人生の旅路の中で私が学んだのは、時は貴いもので、この世で私達に与えられた人生と時間に感謝をするようにしなければいけない、ということです。

For this year, I ask you all to reflect on one thing: peace. Each of us is just one person, each with our own limits. However, if you take a step back and consider the big picture. Each and every person is part of a family. That family is part of a larger extended family, which is part of a community, which is part of a country, which is part of a larger continent, which is part of the world. I could keep on going, but I think you understand what I’m trying to say.

今年は、皆さんに１つのことを考えて頂きたいと思います。それは、平和です。私達は、一人だけでは限界のある人間です。しかし、一歩下がってより大きな全体像を見てください。私達一人一人はみな一つの家族の一員です。その家族はさらに大きな大家族の一部なのです。それは共同体の一部であり、その共同体は国の一部であり、その国はより大きな大陸の一部であり、その大陸は世界の一部なのです。もっと例えを広げていけますが、私のいいたいことは分かっていただけたと思います。

In essence, each of us is part of one big family. Not only do I wish you a peaceful and happy new year, I also want to wish everyone who is part of this global family a peaceful new year. I hope you canall join me inthinking about everyone who is part of this world and wish them a peaceful and joyous new year.

要するに、私達一人一人は一つの大きな家族の一員なのです。皆さんにとって新しい年が平和で幸せであると同時に、この地球家族の一員である全ての人にとって幸せな一年であることをお祈りしています。皆さんが私と共に、この世界の一員である全ての人々のことを考え、平和で喜びに満ちた新年であるようにと願って下さることを期待しています。 -Jet
