2006年メッセージ

To my fans in Japan,

日本のファンの皆様へ

One word: Caring. Caring for the environment, caring for others, and caring for ourselves. This is the theme I’d like everyone to keep in mind for 2006. As we have seen in 2005, if we don’t care for our global environment, the consequences can be disastrous. However, with just a little help from neighbors and friends, we can recover from anything.

１つの言葉があります。それは気遣い。環境への気遣い、他者への気遣い、自分自身への気遣いです。これらは、今年２００６年に皆様の心に留めておいて頂きたいテーマです。２００５年をふりかえってお分かりのように、地球環境に気を配らなければ、悲惨な結果がもたらされるでしょう。しかし、隣人や友人からのほんの少しの援助があれば、どんなことからも回復できるのです。

Many of you have asked me what I’ve been doing these past few months. Thank you for your caring. I have been busy doing work behind the scenes for charitable causes and setting up foundations. Some of you may have heard about my idea for One Foundation. Even though it has not been fully set up, I am working hard with a team of experts to make this a reality. However, these things take time and patience to make sure it is done properly.

たくさんの方々が、ここ数ヶ月私が何をやっているのかを気にしてくださいます。お気遣いをありがとうございます。私は慈善事業や基金の設立のため、忙しく働いています。私の「ワン基金」のことを聞いていらっしゃる方もおられるでしょう。まだ完全に立ち上げられてはいませんが、実現に向けて専門家の皆さんと一生懸命取り組んでいるところです。しかし、このようなことは、軌道に乗せるには時間と忍耐が必要です。

Additionally, I have invited as guest speakers to university students throughout China. In total, I have visited four universities across the country. I am very proud of this achievement. Youths are very impressionable and now, in our multitasking and high achieving society, under great amounts of pressure. Through my chats with students, I hope to share with them my understanding of the universe and the world. I also hope to help them put perspective on what’s most important in life: happiness. I want to tell them and explain to them how to find happiness in their life and how to deal with pressure and stress. You may be able to find some of these transcripts online.

その他に、私は中国各地の大学へ講演の講師として招かれました。全部で４大学を訪れました。私はこの活動にとても誇りを感じています。若者達はとても外からの影響を受けやすく、現代の、多重の課題こなし、しかも高い達成度を求められる社会の中で、たいへんな重圧を感じながら生活しています。学生達との語らいを通して、私は宇宙や世界について自分なりにつかんだものを分かち合いたいと思っています。また、彼らが人生で最も重要なこと、つまり幸福についての展望をもつ手助けも行いたいと考えています。人生の幸福をどう見つけるのか、そして、重圧やストレスとどう向き合うのかを話したいのです。私の講演の一部をネットで読むこともできるでしょう。

In ending, I also want to wish everyone a peaceful new year. I hope you can all join me in caring about everyone who is part of this world and wish them a peaceful and joyous new year.

最後になりましたが、皆さんが平和な新しい年を迎えられますように。私と共に、この世界の仲間である全ての人に、平和な喜びに満ちた年であるようにと祈ってくださいますように。
